❓What Causes Err 04?
The meter's cryptographic Key Revision Number (KRN) is outdated or the mandatory TID rollover from the November 2024 STS base date change has not been performed. The meter will reject ALL new tokens until updated.
Root cause: The 24-bit TID field reached its maximum value in November 2024. All meters require a cryptographic base date update to STS-2.
